Hahaha!

That is true, Sarge!

Agree SBBB

Forming an opinion at this stage is ridiculous.

However I've seen enough to be confident he'll be a better bet than Andre Ayew.

At least after missing that open goal last night he had the grace to look suitably embarrassed.

Ayew would have pursed his lips and put his hands to his head as if he'd just grazed the bar from 30 yards

Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
Give him at least a bit of time!

He's trying to learn Moyes' system (does Moyes have a system?) and get used to his teammates.

I've no idea how he'll turn out, but to say any player is not much cop after two games is a bit nuts.

Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
I really like him, maybe if the ball was played quicker from midfield he'd be beating the offside trap

Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
Doesn't look like he's afraid to run at a player and take him on, which is the polar opposite to benrahma. I'd like to see Cornet play just behind Scamacca.

Early days to make an assessment let's hope he comes good !
Benny so far this season is impressing me long may it continue.

Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
Had two good assists so far..

But is offside a lot, a few wasteful crosses last night too.

The thing that annoyed me most about him though was on three separate occasions he stood waiting for the ball to get to him and the other player moved towards it and got it first.

But very early days, maybe just a bit rusty

I was never convinced, but for the price and because he can play across the front he's a decent addition. Proved last season he can be useful at this level. He's probably of a similar standard to Benrahma.

Personally, I would have taken Traore from Wolves.

He's not very good is he ?

Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
Look how Burnley utilised him last season. In a fucking shit team he was given a free role, not shackled by the formation and style Moyes wants with no room for change.
Cornet was pretty much the reason Burnley were within a shout of staying up last season.
He nerds to be given a free roam in our team, not stuck out in one position, putting balls into the box for a 'striker' who doesn't always bust a nut to get forward and attack the crosses coming in. I think Cornet and Scamacca will end up working well together they just need a run of games together.

A touch of the Diangana's about him for me

Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
Bit of competition in that left attacking position also seemed to push Benrahma when he came on. He did really well for Antonio's goal.

Whisper it, but we might be OK in that position now. We desperately need a natural left-back to share duties with Cresswell, though.

I think some of you will be getting a good ticking off from Willtell, suggesting he’s a left winger….he may even let go of his zimmer…..

Arthur?? a left back??? Ha Ha ha Ha ha… get outta here…..

Nick QQQ 11:50 Fri Aug 19
Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
why are people comparing him to Arthur? Arthur was a terrible left back, this bloke is a left winger.

Too early to get excited, but a winger who is confident on the ball and likes to beat a player is exactly what we need down that side. It will help Bowen as well because teams know we tend to do most of our attacking work down that side.

Already has more assists that Arthur…. he’s won me over….

Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
I'll take that balance for the time being. We needed a player who can beat a man with the ball at this feet, and who can cross.

Still settling in - and you're right to point out the offside issue. But Moyes and his coaching staff can work on that.

Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
positives - skilful, good crosser

negatives - always offside, powder-puff in the challenge

master 11:17 Fri Aug 19
Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
Must play on the left, not the right. Natural crossing ability.

Didn’t see the game last night, but kept an eye on BBC news. Sounds like an upgrade on Masuaku.

Alfs 2:11 Fri Aug 19
Re: Maxwell Cornet - signed
Agreed, Miike. Though he has a propensity to get offside.
